DEMO CENTER 2 (MODULAR SMART FACTORY) is the result of development work on a new concept of assembly and material handling. The approach is based on assembly lines supported by digital twins, with the goal of achieving:

  • optimized equipment layout – modular configuration,
  • optimized material flow,
  • reduced production times,
  • optimized assembly processes,
  • optimized logistics routes,
  • optimized material handling processes.

Warehouse 1

Storing colored cubes and supporting assembly operations. Main components include a robotic slide rail with a Magician robotic arm, storage locations and bins, and a loading/unloading station. It has one input/output point prepared for AMR integration (loading and unloading of pallets or parts).

Warehouse 2

Storing engraving cards. Main components include a robotic slide rail with a Magician robotic arm, storage locations, and bins. It has one input/output point prepared for AMR integration (loading and unloading of pallets or parts).

 Robotic cells 1 and 2

Used for manipulation between production modules; serve as a central unit with four possible connection points for production modules. Main components include a CR3 collaborative robot and control unit, storage locations, and multiple robotic grippers.

Robotic cells 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7

Modules 3, 4, and 5 are used for assembly operations, while modules 6 and 7 are used for quality control. Main components include a Magician robotic arm, conveyor belt with optical sensors, machine vision with an industrial HD color camera, and storage areas for colored cubes, engraving cards, or pallets. Each module has one input and one output point prepared for AMR, enabling loading and unloading of parts and pallets onto conveyors or into storage locations.

Robotic rail

 Module for transferring parts between production modules. Main components include a robotic rail with a Magician robotic arm and a loading/unloading system for pallets and parts. It has one input and one output point, enabling connection with other production modules or AMR.

AMR

Used for internal logistics between production modules. Main components include a TurtleBot3 AMR with a conveyor belt and an optical sensor for pallet and part recognition. It has one input/output point used for connection with other production modules.

Sorting

Laser engraving of engraving cards. Main components include two Magician robotic arms (one for engraving and one for manipulation), a conveyor belt, an engraving station for positioning, and engraving cards. It has one input and one output point prepared for AMR (loading and unloading of pallets or cards).

Classification

Module for sorting, positioning colored cubes, and preparing pallets for production modules (robotic cells 3–7). Main components include a Magician robotic arm, a conveyor belt, and a sorting station. It has one input and one output point prepared for connection with other production modules or AMR.
