The main infrastructure of the laboratory is represented by the SMART FACTORY DEMO CENTER, which includes all key Industry 4.0 (I4.0) technologies:

  • A modern production line with six advanced, intelligent assembly stations that adapt to the sequence of assembly processes.
  • Two robotic cells with tool changers, enabling automated robotic assembly of products with machine vision support.
  • Smart pick-and-place devices and other distributed systems such as standalone machine vision cells for part recognition, RFID systems for tracking products, processes, and workers.
  • An advanced manual assembly station integrated with a collaborative robot (integration of Industry 4.0 technologies, integration of advanced visual aids, and digital instructions).
  • Introduction of additive technologies to increase flexibility and adaptability of production systems for the assembly of customized products.
Augmented reality glasses for displaying production line information.
  • Virtual reality glasses for visualizing the production line during the planning phase.
  • The LPM (LASIM Production Management Software) application – creation of digital work instructions based on 3D product models used at manual assembly stations, tracking and visualization of assembly processes and material flow from supply, storage, and production to final assembly. Optimization of the entire supply chain from procurement to storage and product dispatch.
  • A developed smart factory platform that includes digital twins, a SCADA system, and distributed real systems suitable for “plug and produce” applications.
