Midterm exams:
The 1st Interim exam (midterm) is proposed for xxxxxxxx (60 min), classroom for the lectures, UL FME. Questions related to 1st Interim exam (midterm).
The 2nd Interim exam (midterm) is proposed for xxxxxxxx (60 min), classroom for lectures, UL FME.
Subject description:
The course introduces the fundamental concepts, principles and technologies of smart factories and Industry 4.0, with particular emphasis on distributed systems and digital twins. Students learn about key Industry 4.0 technologies, their role and application in smart manufacturing environments, and the principles of designing and developing smart factories. The course focuses on modelling manufacturing processes involving discrete and partially continuous events, developing digital twins of individual processes and entire smart factories, and applying simulation tools and digital agents for monitoring and control. Students also gain the ability to assess the digitalisation level of existing manufacturing facilities and understand the approaches required to transform traditional factories into smart factories. Through the acquired knowledge, students develop the skills to design, integrate and optimise manufacturing processes using Industry 4.0 technologies and digital twins.
